The Importance of Water

The one thing that I have struggled with while traveling is drinking enough water.

We all know the importance of drinking half your bodyweight in ounces on a daily basis, but while traveling it definitely becomes an issue.

The easiest way I have found to drink water while traveling, is to carry a gallon jug of water and use that to refill my jug. That way I can keep an eye on exactly how much I am drinking.

Also when hiking, try to stop every 15-20 minutes to rehydrate, especially in the summer months.

The other issue in drinking enough water while traveling is finding a restroom on the route.

I will say from experience that the National Parks I have visited so far have toilets located everywhere. Of course in the parks, the majority of them are pit toilets, but they work all the same. Most of them even have hand sanitizer for a little cleansing when done.

Here are 8 reasons why you need to drink enough water daily:

  1. Water boosts the health of your skin
  2. Helps regulate your body temperature
  3. It helps with digestion
  4. Helps regulate body blood pressure
  5. Helps your body flush toxins
  6. May also help with weight loss
  7. Helps you perform better when working out
  8. Assists with oxygen delivery throughout the body

I recommend when traveling to find a way that works for you to monitor your water consumption.

Everyone is different, but the one way that we are all the same is our dependence on water for a healthier life.

NOTE: Adding lemon slices which helps your body detox, to your water is a good addition if you need a little help to drink more water.
