Why Cruising is For Everyone!

I have taken many cruises in my life. My mother, a travel agent, thought they were the best way to travel with the family, and she was so right.

My favorite cruises have been to Alaska. The first time we left out of Seattle for a 7 day cruise, and the second time we departed out of San Francisco on a 10 day cruise.

The benefits of cruising are many.

  • With your private room you can unpack and have everything arranged just like at home. No living out of suitcases.
  • Food is always available, and you can eat breakfast and lunch when you are hungry. There are set times for dinner. We always choose the early seating, especially with the kids.
  • Pool time is a great way to tire out the kids. It is also a great place to hang out with the family. Most ships now have an adult area, so if you are traveling without children you have a place to relax without all the noise.
  • Activities are numerous and always available on sea days.
  • Excursions are at your discretion in case you want to explore more at some or all of your destinations.
  • Shopping on board is always fun, and they usually have special buying events during the trip.
  • Ship stewards take care of your rooms everyday, so it is just like staying in a hotel.
  • Adult Beverages are not included in the price of the cruise, but they do have additional packages you can buy if you enjoy indulging while on vacation.
  • If you are traveling with young children there are kids clubs are available. Kids clubs are a great way to keep the kids entertained while you get some quiet and relaxing down time.

Cruising is very popular these days, with destinations world wide. I was just informed today that Carnival has eliminated all their covid vaccine requirements, so it’s time to travel!

One cruise that I want to take is the 2 week cruise out of Los Angeles to Hawaii. My brother has done it twice and said it is just fabulous as they do long port days on quite a few of the Hawaiian islands.
